Just a bit about Julie:

At ten, I knew! Maybe it was the funky do’s I gave my dolls, or the practice I got trimming the back of my mom and grandmother’s hair that instilled in me a dream. I was blessed to have discovered my passion at such a young age. By 16, I was in full pursuit of my dream to be a hair stylist. I began attending Palm Springs Beauty College in my hometown every day after high school, and on Saturdays, until completing 1,600 hours of schooling. In March 1984, right before my high school graduation, I graduated beauty school, passed the state board licensing test, and began my career in a salon that June. A few years later I was hired at the top salon in Palm Springs: A Cut Above. I worked as a Color Specialist, focusing on color correction, coloring, and highlighting. It was there that I was introduced to makeup, models and modeling agencies. I began working as a model stylist for photo shoots, doing their hair and makeup, and working on runway models for fashion shows. I also fell in love with weddings, helping brides achieve their dreams on their big day. After falling in love and marrying my husband Steve, I completed the next stage of my childhood dream: owning my own salon. I opened Titian Blonde (in Italian meaning Strawberry Blonde) and another year later I was blessed with my first son. I was blessed with abundant success and a growing family, all within a short period of time. My waiting list grew to six weeks out for an appointment, and my family grew with another son! A few years later, Steve and I relocated to Colorado, first Denver, then Vail where we grew again and welcomed a third son, and finally settling in Steamboat. As we settled down to raise our family, two more additions were added, my first and only daughter, followed by yet another son! For the last 13 years I homeschooled and have been raising my five children, and have worked as a part-time hair dresser on my local clientele out of my laundry room. In the spring of 2009 I was given the opportunity through many miracles to reopen my own salon, and after coloring and cutting for twenty five years I am flourishing once more as my passion continues to fire and grow. I work to give each client a color and cut that will bring to life their own passions and will bring their hair to its full potential. I fully believe that a good cut can bring confidence and pride in oneself, a sure confidence boost when in confident hands.
